Rules & FAQ
1. Check your Discord regularly and stay on top of deadlines.
You must have a Discord account in order to participate, in order for us to keep everything organized in one place. Please respond to mentions and announcements within 24 hours!
If you don’t have a Discord, you can indicate it in your application, and we’ll put you on backup in case anybody decides to drop out last-minute. You will have to submit your work in a shorter amount of time when notified.
2. Please let us know right away if you have changed your social media handles.
Social media is the only means that we have, besides Discord, to contact you, so we want to make sure your soc-med information that we have is up to date.
3. Please let us know right away if you need to drop out.
We understand that life happens! If you want to drop out of the project for any reason at any time, please let us know via Discord as soon as possible. We also want this to be enjoyable for you, and therefore, we want to make sure that you aren’t stressing over the deadlines. Please feel free to reach out to the organizers if anything happens, and we will do our best to help you with what you need!
4. Please keep this project a secret!
I’m an amateur, can I apply?
There’s no level requirement! Everyone is welcome to apply. The majority of the fandom is amateurs as well. We try to tailor our project to fit as many applicants as possible, and we’ll assign parts based on skill level as well, so there will be a place for everyone!
Can singers/pianists/ethnic instruments/[insert instrument] apply?
Yes! We don’t limit what instruments can or cannot apply. There will certainly be ones that fit better in the orchestra, but we try to accommodate as many people as possible. Plus, you never know what creative ways there might be to implement an instrument into the orchestra, or replace a missing instrument!
What piece are we playing?
We haven’t decided on a piece yet! We will be choosing the piece (with everyone’s input!) based on the instrumentation we get & everyone’s level.
What are my chances of getting selected/rejected?
We try to accommodate as many applicants as possible in our project, since we want to be inclusive of the community. However, regardless of instrument or role, there is no guarantee that anyone will get in or not… But we would say that the chances of getting in is much higher than not. So we encourage everyone to apply!
